My English Verses

1-On Isa's Second Coming. ---------------------
The throne is empty and waiting for the monarch,Who is scheduled to come in proceeding years,We are all standing with binding hands,Looking forward with the eyes having tears,He will surely come and get us rid, Of the tyrants who have pierced the truth with falsy spears.
2-The Great Emancipator
---------------------
He who has shown us the path of love,He who has taken humanity to culmination,The whole beautiful universe is indebted to him,Without him we would not have been led to emancipation.

3-On Gujrat Riots
------------------- I fear them who have taken the world on stride? Their callous hearts have no human milk in store,The scream of orphan the wail of widow,Move their hearts with their intensity no more,Believing youths are blamed alone,Whose ancestors taught the world to love before.

4-The sky is bright, the sun is hot,The wind is blowing with rapturous sound,But in my heart there reigns darkness and pathos all around,My life is under the burden of self-imposed responsibilities,Noone is there to share my overwhelming sensibilities, I'm the messiah of my own disease,My vivacity fades my pain grows,When I try to defeat it or nearly cease.

5-Ruined are those who have confronted with ambition,Rewarded people have shown themselves in submission, I,too, like being submissive but, For a moment Tremble with an strange hallucination.

6-"The Balm"
--------------
When the darkness of my heart dissolves in the clouds, When my tears come out ripping the veil of eye lids, When my heart beats are represented by the peel of thunder, When the memories of someone takes the shape of clouds, I always wish a soothing balm for my pain, It is sent by Heaven in the form of rain.

AKMAL NAZIR DOES NOT CONSIDER HIMSELF A POET

I don't call myself a poet because I lack that spirit and attribute. I simply express my ideas in a poetic form which may not fulfil the criteria of a good poetry. So I am not a poet in that sense but a writer of verses. So please do not criticise me on the pattern of the poetry. If there is any lacuna in my thoughts or ideas, please make me aware of it. If someone has objection on it, I would welcome.

MERI KUCH AUR URDU NAZMEIN

1-Sochta rahta hoon aksar zindagi ek raaz hai, gham bhi deti hai, magar woh gham jo be awaaz hai, muskurahat dekhte ho jab bhi chehre par mere, dard ko apne chupaane ka ye ek andaaz hai.

3-Ab ke gulshan mein na bulbul na bahar aayi hai, bekhudi bojh kai sar se utaar aayi hai, kaise de doon tujhe do waqt ki roti jaana, tera deewana aseer-e-gham-e-manhgaai hai.
4-Apne hi soz-e-ishq se khud ko nikaal kar, aye dil zara sambhal le apne ma-amle, tanhaiyon ki raat ho ya din visaal ka, rakh le use sambhal ke jo kuch tujhe mile
5-Chahe laga de qaid tu meena-o-jaam par,Hum to piyenge shahr ke har eik gaam par,Is baat par hain muttafiq ahle watan tamaam,Baatenge hum na mulk ko dahshat ke naam par.

7-Teri yaadon ke hasee(n) mausam, jab bhi purwai leke aati hai, dil pe nashtar sa eik chalta hai, sari ummeed toot jati hai, dor ashkon ke regzaaron ki, mere hathon se choot jaati hai.

11-Kabhi ahsas ke sahra mein pani chod jata hai, nigahon mein murravvat khush bayani chod jata hai, kabhi jo muskurakar meri janib dekh leta hai, mere qadmon mein lakar zindagani chod jata hai, woh ek jazba jise hum naam dete hain muhabbat ka, wahi benoor chahron par jawani chod jata hai, jise adrak hasil hai nizam-e-dahr ka yaaron, woh mar kar bhi nuqoosh-e-jaavedani chod jata hai, koi 'Akmal' ke dil ki baat jakar pooch le usse, zara si baat par woh bezabani chod jata hai.
